About NEA MB > Working with Your Local Working with Your Local NEA Member Benefits provides many levels of program support to the members. This support makes it easy and convenient for members to participate, to save money, and to have financial peace of mind in the NEA Member Benefits Program. Affiliate Relations plays a key role in attracting and retaining members at every level of the Association. The goal of Affiliate Relations is to significantly increase participation in the NEA Member Benefits Program through alternative marketing strategies in addition to what is realized through traditional marketing methods such as direct mail and advertising. To help increase member awareness and program participation, NEA Member Benefits' regional representatives work one-on-one with NEA leaders to help build strong local associations to promote all levels of the Association, and to demonstrate the benefits of association membership to members. This group exhibits at local, state, and national association events as well as conducts training sessions and product presentations to members, leaders, and staff. Affiliate Relations also produces the annual NEA Member Benefits Professionals' Workshop. This meeting joins representatives from each state affiliate, NEA governance, and various NEA Member Benefits and state program suppliers. The goal is to provide professional training and information, as well as personal development sessions on a wide array of topics that support the role of those who work to develop and administer the NEA Member Benefits programs. Here is what some state affiliates had to say about the NEA Member Benefits' regional representative with whom they have worked: "Just
a short note to let you know how much I appreciate Liz Picone and the
work she does for NEA Member Benefits"-- "As
we go about our task of building strong education association locals,
there is one person who is supportive, innovative, diligent, and inspiring
as a promoter of the Association, as well as one who brings to us clearly
defined information on benefits that we need and are interested in. That
person is Carolyn Johnson!"-- "NEA
Member Benefits' regional representatives are out there every single day
talking with leaders and staff members. They help members identify and
address their needs. They know when problems arise and they are adept
in seeking solutions."-- |
