Backyard Conservation

This book, created by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, the National Association of Conservation Districts, the Wildlife Habitat Council and the National Audubon Society, highlights 10 conservation activities, adapted from farms and ranches, that can be used in your backyard—whether your yard is measured in acres, feet, or flower pots. Activities include composting, mulching, tree planting, creating a backyard pond, creating homes for wildlife, and more! The beautiful photographs alone make this a worthwhile read. Due to the large download size of the photographs, this book is in two parts.

You can use an ice cube to fix furniture marks left in carpet. Gently loosen the matted fibers with a fork and then let an ice cube melt on the indentation. The moisture will bring the carpet fibers back to their original position.
