2009   

NEA Member Benefits celebrates 61 years of service and launches redesigned website to better meet the needs of NEA members.

 

 

2006   

NEA’s Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance Plan observes 40th year of providing affordable AD&D coverage to members.

 

 

2005   

NEA Member Benefits merges NEA’s MBC Investor Services Company into MBC to broaden the range of services provided by MBC staff to Affiliates and members.

 

 

   

Total deposit savings of members in the NEA-Sponsored CD and Money Market Account programs exceed the $4 billion level for the first time in history.

 

 

   

NEA Members Insurance Trust marks the 10th anniversary of the NEA MemberCare Medicare Supplement Program.

 

 

2004   

NEA Home Financing Program marks completion of its first decade of service.

 

 

2003   

NEA Credit Card Program reaches its 20th anniversary.

 

 

   

The number of periodicals offered by the NEA Magazine Service reaches 600+.

NEA MemberCare Medicare Supplement Program reaches 5,000 participants.

NEA Preferred Term Life Plan is introduced with level premium, level benefit coverage.

 

 

   

The NEA Members Auto & Home Insurance Program is launched, offering a variety of coverage for all risk categories and specialized needs.

 

 

   

NEA Home Financing Program surpasses $500 million in home loans.

 

 

1999   

The NEA National Board Certification Loan is introduced to help members cover the assessment fee for enrolling in the certification program.

 

 

   

NEA Valuebuilder Retirement Savings Program surpasses $750 million in assets under management.

 

 

1998   

NEA Valuebuilder Future and NEA Valuebuilder Select are developed specifically for rollover and payroll deferral contributions.

 

 

   

The NEA Member Benefits Website -- www.neamb.com -- is launched.

 

 

1996   

NEA MemberCare Long-Term Care Insurance Program is introduced.

 

 

1995   

NEA Home Protection Plan and NEA MemberCare Medicare Supplement Program are added to the list of sponsored programs.

 

 

   

NEA’s MBC Investor Services Company is incorporated as a registered investment advisor company.

 

 

1994   

NEA Home Financing Program is added to the list of sponsored programs.

NEA Members Insurance Trust offers NEA Level Premium Term Life Insurance Plan.

NEA Member Benefits Consultants (Regional Representatives) are established.

 

 

   

NEA Certificate of Deposit Program is introduced.

NEA Valuebuilder is announced as a new vehicle to help members save for retirement.

NEA Money Market Program and NEA Line of Credit are introduced.

 

 

1986   

NEA Credit Card program reaches 500,000 participants.

 

 

1985   

NEA Teachers Services Corporation is merged into a new company to form NEA’s Member Benefits Corporation.

 

 

1984   

NEA Credit Card program is launched.

 

 

1982   

NEA Magazine Service program is introduced.

 

 

1978   

The NEA Members Insurance Trust (NEA MIT) is established.

 

 

   

NEA Special Services introduces NEA MIT insurance programs: NEA MemberCare Insurance, NEA Credit Plan and NEA Car Rental Program.

 

 

1967   

NEA Teachers Services Corporation (the precursor to NEA Member Benefits) is founded to administer member benefit programs.

 

 

1961   

NEA develops the NEA Member Insurance Plan to provide voluntarily purchased life insurance along with NEA Accidental Death & Dismemberment and NEA Homeowners Insurance.

 

 

1948   

An NEA member benefits program is established with the introduction of the NEA Travel Program.

 

 

1941   

NEA creates the committee that will eventually become Unified Legal Services.
