Who is eligible to apply for an NEA Credit Card?

You must be a current NEA member, or family member of a current NEA member, and at least 18 years of age or at least 21 years of age if a permanent resident of Puerto Rico.

 

How else can I apply besides online?

You may apply by calling Bank of America toll-free at 1-877-721-9398 and mentioning the corresponding priority code:

  • UAA62N – NEASM Accelerated Rewards® American Express® Card
  • UAA62G – NEASM Platinum Plus® Credit Card With WorldPoints® Rewards

 

When will I receive my card?

Upon approval, you will receive your card within 2-3 weeks.

 

How can I find out the status of my Credit Card application?

You can check the status of your application by calling Bank of America at 1-800-822-7632.

 

How can family members apply for their own accounts?

Parents, spouse (or domestic partner) and children of NEA members are eligible to apply for an NEA Credit Card by completing an online application or by calling Bank of America at 1-877-721-9398 and mentioning the corresponding priority code:

Payment Information

 

Where do I send my Credit Card payments?

You may send your Credit Card payment(s) to Bank of America, P. O. Box 15019, Wilmington, DE 19850-5019. Payments are processed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All conforming payments* are posted within 24 hours of receipt. All other payments may take up to 5 business days to process.

 

* A conforming payment is one that is received by 5 p.m. Eastern Time, paid with a check drawn in U.S. dollars on a U.S. financial institution or U.S. dollar money order, and is sent in the enclosed return envelope with only the top portion of the statement accompanying it.

 

Can I send my payments overnight?

Yes. Overnight payments may be sent to Bank of America, Attn: Payment Processing, 1000 Samoset Drive, Wilmington, DE 19884-2332.

 

How can I pay my bill by phone?

You may pay your Credit Card bill over the phone by calling Bank of America at 1-888-339-6262. Please remember to have your check number, bank routing number and checking account number ready when you call. Payments received by 5 p.m. Eastern Time Monday-Sunday will be posted the same day.

 

How can I pay my bill online?

If you have a Bank of America checking or savings account – Funds transferred as a payment to a personal credit card account before 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time, including weekends and holidays, will be credited with the date the payment is made. However, updates to account balances and funds availability may take up to 2 bank business days.

If you have a personal Bank of America credit card and don’t have a checking or savings account – Your payment will be requested as an electronic transfer within 24 hours from the time you submit it online. A debit will appear on your checking account and on your credit card statement online within 2 business days.

How do I transfer balances to my account?

You may complete a balance transfer request online or by calling Bank of America at 1-800-822-7632 to speak to a Balance Transfer Specialist.

 

How can I make cash advance withdrawals on my card?

You can make cash advance withdrawals by using your Credit Card at ATMs or you can take the card to a bank and request a cash advance from a teller. (Transaction fee will apply. Daily and transaction limits apply at ATMs and some banks may charge an additional fee.)

How can I check my Credit Card account?

You can check the status of your credit card account online through NEA Online Banking. Or you may call Bank of America at 1-800-822-7632.

 

How do I contact Cardmember Services?

If you are calling from within the United States, please call 1-800-822-7632. If you are calling from outside the U.S., please call Bank of America collect at 1-302-738-5719.

 

How can I get a copy of my Credit Card statement?

You can review copies of your most recent statements online and free of charge through NEA NetAccess. If the statement you need is not online, you can use the online form located in NEA Online Banking to order a paper copy (for mailing to your account address). A $5.00 service charge will be billed to your account for each statement copy you request that is older than 6 months. Or you may call Bank of America at 1-800-822-7632 with your request.

 

What do I do if my Credit Card gets lost or stolen?

Please call 1-800-822-7632 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to report your Credit Card as lost or stolen.

 

Whom do I contact about billing inquiries?

Billing rights are preserved through written inquiries only. If you have a billing inquiry or dispute, complete a copy of the form on the back of your statement and mail it to Bank of America, P.O. Box 15026, Wilmington, DE 19850-5026. Please do not include correspondence with your payment. If you have questions about customer service, delivery, defect, or the return of something you bought, you need to contact the company from whom you made the purchase, not Bank of America. You should allow 30 days from the date the company receives a return for the credit to be processed on your account. Many purchase agreements specifically exclude shipping and handling on returns, so you may find that your refund does not include shipping and handling.

 

How do I increase my credit line?

You may request a credit line increase via the online form located in NEA Online Banking; or by calling Bank of America at 1-800-822-7632, Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET.

 

How can I get a copy of my credit report?

You can obtain a copy of your credit report online from any of the three major credit report agencies: Equifax, Experian, or Trans Union. Or you can call 1-888-567-8688 to reach any of these three agencies and to request your credit report by mail.
