Life Insurance Awareness Month (LIAM) is an industry-wide awareness campaign that is held annually during September.
Founded in 1994 by the Life and Health Insurance Foundation for Education (popularly known as the Life Foundation), LIAM was created solely for the purpose of educating the American public about the importance of life insurance. To accomplish this goal, they employ a wide range of communication tactics, including advertising, consumer media outreach, educational programs in high schools and colleges, public service announcements, informational flyers and videos, and a growing array of digital communications.
As a non-profit organization, the Life Foundation is funded by over 130 insurance companies and financial institutions; however, they do not endorse any company, product, or professional advisor. To learn more about the Life Foundation, please visit lifehappens.org.
The NEA Members Insurance Trust is partnering with the Life Foundation once again this year to ensure that NEA members are aware of the importance of protecting their loved ones with adequate life insurance.
