Now is a great time to be an association member, thanks to the NEA Homeowners Insurance Program. As an NEA member, you are eligible to receive additional coverage benefits at no extra charge*:

• $500 coverage for loss of school fundraising cash or goods in a NEA member's possession, subject to a $25 deductible;

• $3,000 coverage for your computer equipment when used at home, away from home for educational activities, or in the living quarters of an insured who is a full-time student;

• $3,000 coverage for personal electronic audio and video equipment used in educational activities away from home;

• up to six months' reimbursement of your mortgage payment (maximum $500 per month), if damage covered by your policy makes your home uninhabitable;

• up to three months' reimbursement of your monthly rent (maximum $100 per month), if damage covered by your policy makes your rented premises permanently uninhabitable;

• waiver of up $250 of your deductible for reasonable expenses you incur to replace personal records damaged or destroyed by a covered peril;
  

• a $250 reward payment for information which leads to the arrest and conviction of a thief;

• a reduced deductible after four loss-free years;

• $750 business property coverage on your insured premises;

• liability coverage for your children who occasionally baby-sit or do other odd jobs; and

• payment of the next annual premium if a spouse dies accidentally and the surviving spouse resides in their home until that renewal premium is due.

If your current policy doesn't match the NEA Homeowners Insurance Program's benefits, now is the time to switch. Even if your policy does not renew for months, your application can be completed now so the NEA Homeowners Insurance Program takes effect at renewal. You may also be able to arrange for your mortgage company to pay your NEA Homeowners Insurance policy through an escrow account.
