NEA Member Benefits Social Media Terms of Use

We at NEA’s Member Benefits Corporation (NEAMB) encourage your comments on our Facebook page, “facebook.com/NEAMemberBenefits,” as well as our communities on LinkedIn, twitter.com/NEABenefits and other forums, and hope you will join the discussions. We can’t respond to every comment, particularly those that deal with individual product questions and product- and service-related issues. Comments that are off-topic may be deleted. We also expect a basic level of civility; disagreements are fine, but mutual respect is a must, and profanity or abusive language is out-of-bounds. The more specific rules are found in our detailed comment policy located below. By participating in our forums, you agree to these terms of use.

Please remember that when you post a comment to a social media site, it is published for the world to see. For your own privacy and that of your family, you should consider carefully how much detailed personal and financial information linked to your name you want published on the Internet. Any such disclosures are at your own risk.

You also agree that you will not:

  1. Post material that infringes on the rights of any third party, including intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights.
  2. Post material that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, threatening, harassing, abusive, slanderous, hateful, or embarrassing to any other person or entity as determined by NEAMB in its sole discretion.
  3. Post advertisements or solicitations of business.
  4. Post chain letters or pyramid schemes.
  5. Impersonate another person.
  6. Allow any other person or entity to use your identification for posting or viewing comments.
  7. Post the same note more than once or “spam.”

NEAMB reserves the right (but is not obligated) to do any or all of the following:

  1. Remove communications that are abusive, illegal or disruptive, or that otherwise fail to conform with these Terms of Use.
  2. Terminate a user’s access to the social media space(s) upon any breach of these Terms of Use.
  3. Edit or delete any communications posted on the social media space(s), regardless of whether such communications violate the standards set forth in these Terms of Use.

Finally, you agree that you will indemnify NEAMB against any damages, losses, liabilities, judgments, costs or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs) arising out of a claim by a third party relating to any material you have posted and/or your conduct on any NEAMB-sponsored social space.

Posting on Non-NEAMB-Sponsored Social Media Pages
NEAMB recognizes the value of your contributions about NEAMB or NEA Member Benefits programs to other parties’ social media pages. To the extent that you participate in these forums, you agree that you will not:

  1. Make any representations or claims about NEAMB which are not authorized by NEAMB.
  2. Represent that your posts or such social media sites are endorsed by NEAMB, or are official sites of NEAMB.
