Savvy NEA members regularly used NEA Vacations and NEA Member Benefits’ other travel discounts to save money on their trip plans. Now, NEA Member Benefits' offerings are even better with more budget-saving options. The NEA Travel Program has become a true one-stop shop that will help you secure the best vacation deals available—whether you’re looking for a flight, car rental, hotel or resort stay, cruise or even a guided vacation.

Members will no longer have to visit multiple pages on to obtain information, view rates and book the travel option they want. In addition, members won’t need any special discount codes for car rentals.

So, as we head into the fall and you're thinking about holiday travel or vacations later in 2021, check out this improved, money-saving vacation portal. Exclusively available to active NEA members, educators can nab discounted rates for cruises, hotel and resort stays, car rentals and guided tours around the world simply by logging in to the NEA Member Benefits website and using the portal to go shopping. Airfare is also available.

What’s the NEA Travel Program all about?

NEA Travel is an online portal offering the guaranteed best value on a whole slew of vacations and related excursions—everything from resorts to hotel bookings to guided vacations to cruises, flights and rental cars.

Oftentimes, you can get the best bang for your buck when booking a tour with a company that has expert knowledge of your destination. A variety of guided vacations are available through NEA Travel from well-known travel companies, such as Trafalgar, Adventures by Disney, Brendan Vacations, Cosmos, G Adventures, Globus, Insight Vacations, Monograms and Tauck. With a guided tour, most of the transportation, accommodations and attraction tickets are handled by the tour company, meaning less stress for you to plan. Tour the U.S. or go global with a guided vacation.

If you prefer independent land vacations, the travel portal still has you covered. Just search for your destination and date of travel to browse a variety of budget-friendly budget-friendly hotels, such as Red Roof, to luxurious hotels and resorts. We checked Las Vegas for Columbus Day weekend and found rates at the renowned Luxor Hotel & Casino for just $66 per night. Even the swanky Delano Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay is only $126 per night, and the Four Seasons Las Vegas is $154 in October. You can also look for a package that includes airfare plus hotel for one low price.

If you’re a cruise fan, you’ll be pleased to know that NEA Travel offers discounted voyages from the top cruise lines out there, including popular river cruise lines AmaWaterways and Viking and mainstream oceangoing cruise companies such as Carnival, Celebrity, Disney, Holland America, Norwegian, Princess and Royal Caribbean. Cruises aboard several luxury lines, such as Regent Seven Seas, Seabourn and Silversea, are also on offer. Check out the portal for amazing deals on 2021 sailings. As part of NEA Travel, you can also earn a variety of incentives, such as onboard credit to use on a cruise, an upgrade to a bigger hotel room or free Wi-Fi.

Sometimes, you just need to book pieces of your trip—flights, hotel or car rental—a la carte, and NEA Travel excels for those types of purchases, too.

NEA Travel is the only site you need to visit to comparison shop and find the best deal on all aspects of your next vacation. NEA Travel will price match any other travel website price should you find a lower cost there—but you probably won’t.

What are NEA Travel Dollars?

There's a bonus to booking with the NEA Travel Program. Upon your first visit, you’ll receive $500 NEA Travel Dollars, which can be used like cash as partial payment on purchases at the portal.

In addition to earning this currency when you book and complete a flight, you can accumulate NEA Travel Dollars in other ways, such as on the anniversary date you connected to the portal and subscribing to the NEA Travel Newsletter or Discount Shoppers Guide.

Members can accrue up to $1,500 in Travel Dollars annually, and portions of it can be used as partial payment for travel services. Travel Dollars are not valid on airfare, but you will receive the additional $100 for every flight completed. Travel Dollars expire a year from when they’re received.

What can you expect from NEA Travel?

If you’re like most education professionals, you’re busy. You may not have time to search all over the web for the best deal on flights, hotels and more. That’s why the NEA Travel Program is so valuable. You can make all your vacation plans, at discounted rates, all on one website. You’ll make your plans faster and save money doing so.

It’s important to note that travel packages are not limited to NEA members alone. You can bring your family along on your adventures and still make use of this benefit. However, you must book their travel. So start saving those NEA Travel Dollars now to use when booking your family trip. Plan an Orlando outing so you can say hello to Mickey and Minnie or stroll the streets of Hogsmeade at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ at Universal Orlando®!

You can also purchase associated travel insurance on the NEA Travel platform. Costs vary depending on the provider and ages of travelers. You will see the insurance policy specific to your booking when you make a purchase and can decide if you would like to add it to your trip.

Book a vacation right away if you see one that works for your budget because rates, while the lowest, are not guaranteed to stay the same at later dates. If travelers need to cancel or change vacations, they can call 866-524-2807. Penalties are sometimes applied depending on suppliers’ rules, which will be available when you make the booking.

So hop on board, members; your next great adventure awaits! Visit the NEA Travel Program to find out more.
